By a unanimous vote of the city council, Craig Mulford has been confirmed as Shreveport's new fire chief.

After 27 years, Fire Chief Brian Crawford's tenure with the Shreveport Fire Department has drawn to a close. But a new chapter of service to the citizens of Shreveport is just beginning, as he becomes the city's Assistant Chief Administrative Officer.

Sixteen years ago, Brad Zagone joined the Bossier City Fire Department. Today, he's the appointed chief of that department -- chosen from a field of thirty-two applicants by Mayor Lo Walker.
