Bossier City Police responded to an accidental shooting in the 2600 block of Palmetto Dr. that claimed the life of a 5 year old boy.  The shooting occurred around 7:57 pm when the child found a loaded handgun in a cabinet and accidently shot himself

Two Bossier City Police Officers To Be Honored At City Council Meeting

Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams will honor two officers for their actions in responding to a double stabbing that occurred in March.  Chief McWilliams will present the department’s Life Saving Bar to Officer Joshua Cheatwood and the Commendation Bar to Officer Stephen Boothe during tomorrow’s (June 7) regular city council meeting at 3p.m. in the Bossier City Council Chambers, 620 Benton Road.

City administrative offices in Shreveport and Bossier City closed for today's Memorial Day holiday. Residential trash pick-up in both cities is shifting a day. Today's trash will be picked up tomorrow, tomorrow's will be picked up Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday's remain unchanged

The three Bossier City Parks and Recreation public swimming pools will open for the summer on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. The hours of operations at each pool will be:

Shed Road Community Playfield Pool - 4208 Shed Road

  • Monday through Friday 12 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
  • Saturday 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Closed on Sunday

Portion of North Bossier Park to Close for Improvements

A portion of the North Bossier Park will close this week while improvements are made. Beginning tomorrow, the playground and spray park will close so shade canopies can be installed. The work is expected to take about a week and a half, weather permitting

A High Speed Chase Nearly Into Texas, Then Back Into Shreveport, Ends At Wal Mart

This was the scene outside the Pines Road Wal-Mart around 7:45pm this evening. 

A man driving a dark blue 2001 Chevrolet Impala was being stopped by an officer for playing loud music on Audrey Lane in North Shreveport, but he didn't want to stop.  He led police on a chase that took them on westbound I-20, to just before the first Waskom exit, when the suspect turned his car around in the median and headed back eastbound into Louisiana.
