This year's rash of flu cases seems to have caused a shortage in the local blood supply. LifeShare Blood Centers spokeswoman Tina Hooper says since so many people have been sick, they aren't able to donate like they once did.
LifeShare Blood Centers encourages blood donations ahead of the winter weather. Officials say blood donations will likely be disrupted tomorrow and Thursday because of the expected weather event. So they're asking folks in our four-state region to visit a Blood Center location or mobile blood drive to ensure an adequate community blood supply
