Cinco de Mayo Jalapeno Eating Contest Winner

Well, it seems like our own Angela Thomas spent the morning at the festival, and unbeknownst to me I might add.  But, I must have gotten there right after she left Saturday.  Or its possible I was sitting at an unbrella table eating, and eating, and eating.  There were several great food vendors, including this vendor that had the most fabulous $5 Beef Fajita Salad I have ever had in my life.

Major Barksdale Weekend Event Re-Scheduled for Late May

The  TOPS in BLUE “Rhytm  Nation” tour scheduled for Saturday, April 30th at Barksdale AFB has been canceled.  It's been rescheduled for May 25th.  Doors will open at Hoban Hall at 6 pm and the show will start at 7 pm that night.

Shreveport Police Join In On Upcoming Nationwide Weekend Event

I told you earlier in the week about Caddo Sheriff's Safety Town being a drop-off point for your unused or unwanted prescription meds, now Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw has announced that his department will join together with other local law enforcement agencies to participate in the national "Take-Back" initiative for prescription medications to be held this weekend.

“That Ain’t My Meth” Didn’t Work For A Couple Of Texas Men

Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says two Texas men were arrested over this past weekend on drug charges. 

Claude Neal Hall, 50, and Gregory Scott Jones, 42, both of Waskom, were taken into custody after Hall was stopped for speeding—51 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone on Wemple Road.

Caddo Sheriff To Participate In National Drug Take-Back Day

Citizen's can dispose of unwanted prescription drugs this Saturday at Sheriff's Safety Town as part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.  

Local law enforcement agencies across the country will be working in co-operation with the DEA  to set up collection sites for old, unwanted, and expired pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications.

Disaster In The Gulf: The One Year Anniversary

April 20, 2010 marks the day of the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.  The first group to successfully gain injunctions against BP demanding relief for impacted fishermen was organized by Louisiana Attorney Stuart Smith.  

On May 1st, this same group of attorneys, fishermen and environmentalists warned that the potential to human health was significant.
