The two suspects wanted for robbing Rogers Corner Store in Haughton Monday morning at gunpoint are now in custody, while two others face charges after the fact, says Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.  All four also face drug charges.

Christopher Crouch, 22, of Texas, was taken into custody around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon at 306 Bayou Loop Road, where he had been residing with a friend for a couple of days.  Since Crouch was known to be armed and dangerous, Bossier Sheriff’s Office SWAT team deployed to the residence around 3:10 p.m., and a BSO K-9 team, South Bossier Fire District 2 and Bossier Parish EMS also responded.  Patrol deputies asked some of the nearby residents to evacuate their homes, and BSO school resource officers held school buses on standby during the incident for their safety.

SWAT team members and Bossier detectives made numerous attempts to contact Crouch inside the residence, but he did not respond.  The SWAT team then deployed chemical agents, and within two minutes, Crouch was in custody.  He initially was non-compliant with team members while they took him into custody around 3:30 p.m….but he quickly complied.

Britnie Sample, 25, also of Texas, was taken into custody while walking near the residence around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon.  Crouch is the one who entered the store during the armed robbery, and Sample, his girlfriend, is accused of driving the get-away vehicle.

During a search of the residence, detectives found Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Earlier this morning, patrol deputies made contact during a traffic stop on Highway 71 and Sligo Road with what appeared to the vehicle used in the armed robbery.

Kimberly Holt, 41, of 306 Bayou Loop, driver of the vehicle, and Austin Holt, 22, also of 306 Bayou Loop, passenger, were taken into questioning.  Detectives determined that the car, a 1999 Toyota Camry owned by Kimberly, was the vehicle used by her friends, Crouch and Sample, in committing the armed robbery.

All four suspects were questioned at the detective’s offices and then transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility Tuesday evening and booked on the following charges, with bonds pending:

·     Christopher Crouch, charged with Armed Robbery, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Schedule II (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

·     Britnie Sample, charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of Schedule II (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

·     Kimberly Holt, charged with Accessory after the Fact (Armed Robbery), Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Schedule II (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

·     Austin Holt, charged with Accessory after the Fact (Armed Robbery), Possession of Sked II (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

During the incident this afternoon, Bossier Sheriff’s Office established an incident command post at South Bossier Baptist Church, and traffic in and around the Plantation Acres Mobile Home Community on Sligo Road was halted.

“I couldn’t ask for a better job by our deputies and the support from the media and public in solving this crime,” said Sheriff Whittington.  “I also can’t stress enough the importance of having a good surveillance video system.  Outstanding teamwork!”
