[UPDATE] Shreveport police say two suspects are behind bars after they attempted to elude police in a stolen car.

Just before noon today, patrol officers were called in reference to a stolen vehicle that had been seen driving in the 6300 block of Hearne Avenue. The vehicle was reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 9400 block of Blom Boulevard this past Tuesday.

As police were attempting to pull over the car, the driver, identified as 17-year-old Kevonte Austin of Shreveport -- sped up in the Lexus sedan, drove into the parking lot of the Louisiana State Fairgrounds, and crashed the car through a cyclone fence. Police say Austin damaged at least two other cars during the pursuit.

Austin abandoned the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Hassett and Penick. He was taken into custody with the help of a police K-9. He was taken to University Health for treatment of minor injuries, then booked into the Shreveport City Jail for aggravated flight, four counts of property damage, four counts of hit and run, resisting an officer, and illegal possession of stolen things.

A second suspect, 18-year-old Boris Williams, who was a passenger in the car, was charged with felony theft and illegal possession of stolen things.

[ORIGINAL STORY]  Three men are reportedly in custody after leading police on a chase in a suspected stolen car.

Police say a Shreveport fire dispatcher's home was burglarized a few days ago, and her car was stolen. A co-worker reported seeing it at a pawn shop on E. 70th Street this morning.

When officers tried to pull the car over, the driver sped off, ultimately crashing through a fence at Fairgrounds Field. We're hearing another vehicle may have been struck during the pursuit, but we're waiting for confirmation on that.

We'll bring you more information on this developing story as we get it.
