Suspect Captured After Hit and Run in Arksansas and Second Crash in Texas
Texarkana, Texas Police arrested a suspect after a hit and run accident in Arkansas.
The suspect’s vehicle was recognized, and when TTPD officers attempted to perform a traffic stop it caused another crash.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, Shuntay Johnson, 23, of Texarkana, Texas fled on foot with her five children, all of which are six years old or younger.
Officers made contact with Johnson in an alleyway nearby where they observed her tossing the children over a fence. Johnson fled on foot from officers leaving the children in the alleyway.
Johnson was captured after a brief foot chase and arrested for Endangering -Abandoning a Child, Resisting Arrest, and Evading Arrest on foot. Johnson also had an unrelated felony warrant.
The children were transported to the hospital to be checked for injuries.
