Lots of activities are going on at Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center. Here are a few special features you can expect in the upcoming weeks.

Dad's Day Special Programming: Bernoulli's Boomerangs

FREE admission for dads with paid child admission. Boomerang and Air Show workshops for dad and the kids.

Highlights from the Earth Summit

Sci-Port's Karen Wissing and Michele McKee will talk with visitors via Skype to give a live update from Rio de Janiero, Brazil. They're at the Earth Summit presenting their SCEnaRioS project, which focuses on engaging middle and high school students in energy conservation and water usage education. 

Wednesdays through August 1st, at 11 a.m. and noon

For toddlers: Itty Bitty Scientist

June 20th...Toddler Tunes -- The little ones can explore different instruments, including drums, shakers, string instruments and more. Sci-Port staffers will read "Giraffes Can't Dance!"...and the kids can make their own crazy instruments and have a noise parade with friends from Kindermusik.

June 27th...Cute as a Ladybug -- Kids can make their own unique ladybugs, and practice shapes and counting. That follows the story "Five Little Ladybugs."

Sundays in June, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Take part in a sun-related activity and solar observing through Sci-Port's telescopes up on the Windham Family Rooftop. You'll see solar activities like flares, prominences and sunspots...and learn more about the sun in the movie "Secrets of the Sun" in the Dayna & Ronald L. Sawyer Space Dome Planetarium.

Summer Science Blast Day Camps

If you're looking for an educational and fun thing for your kids to do this summer, this is it! The Day Camps are themes and planned to accommodate specific grade groups...K-1st, 2nd and 3rd, 4th and 5th, and 6th-through-8th. Each camper must be entering the grade group in the 2012-13 school year to sign up.
