MIDLAND, Texas (AP) — Heavy rain in West Texas has led to street flooding and a day off from school for some students.

The Midland Independent School District canceled classes Friday due to weather.

The National Weather Service says the Midland area has received nearly three inches of rain. Forecasters issued a flash flood watch for the Midland and Odessa areas through Saturday morning.

Oncor has reported scattered power outages.
