President and Chief Administrative Officer of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry Stephen Waguespack talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the growing momentum for a convention to rewrite the state's constitution.

Waguespack tells KEEL listeners that a constitutional convention, last held in 1973, will only be successful if the driving force behind the meeting is the citizens of Louisiana and not its political class. "Wags" says his organization is firmly behind the idea of revamping the state's most important document: "It needs to be done in a way where the delegates who are not the insiders. We want delegates elected from outside the capitol or outside the system with a real world perspective. In our mind, it's just become overreaching and restrictive."
