‘Step Brothers 2′ Filming In Bossier Is An Internet Hoax

Who woulda thought? Bossier City the latest "victim" of an internet hoax! The story that "Step Brothers 2", a sequel to the 2009 Will Farrell comedy hit, will be filming on the east side of the Red River is all over social media. But, sadly, the story, like so many others is false from beginning to end.

Here's one of the fake reports, from the "news" site, knp7.com:

"The long awaited sequel to the 2008 film, Step Brothers, is finally on its way. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are once again collaborating on a script that should be finished this spring. All of the original cast including Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Richard Jenkins, Mary Steenburgen, and others are set to return.

"Few details concerning the plot have been released but insider sources are claiming that it involves the two step brothers, both now with menial jobs, living in an apartment together in Bossier City, Louisiana. Dale finds out that he has accidentally impregnated a young woman who wants nothing to do with the baby after it is born leaving Dale and Brennan to raise the baby themselves.

"Filming is expected to begin this fall in Bossier City."

"If you’ve logged onto Facebook or trolled Reddit today, you surely saw the exciting news: "Step Brothers 2" is officially happening and it begins filming this year! Unfortunately none of this is true. Sources close to the original film have assured us that "Step Brothers 2" is no closer to happening now than it was earlier this year."

What a shame! Not only could our flagging, local movie industry used a multi-million dollar pick up, but who in the ArkLaTex wouldn't want Will Farrell wandering among us for four months or more?
