A statewide crackdown on unemployment fraud nets six more arrests -- right here in northwest Louisiana. The Louisiana Workforce Commission says six people connected to a suspected fraud ring in Webster Parish have been arrested. Three of them are from Springhill and three from Cullen. Workforce Commission agents says all of them are employees of Continental Structural Plastics in Sarepta. They're accused of claiming unemployment insurace benefits while they were working, but failing to report their earnings. The commission says warrants are pending for seventeen other suspects in in connection with the alleged fraud ring. Since the statewide crackdown began in April, 58 people have been arrested -- accused of defrauding the state's Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund of more than $570-thousand.
