State’s First Bicentennial Baby Born in Shreveport

Louisiana's first bicentennial baby was born yesterday morning in Shreveport. Baby Isaiah was born at LSU Medical Center at 12:02.

The proud parents are Sheneka Taylor and Kiwawskii Harvey. Isaiah is the couple's first child as well as the first born on Louisiana's 200th birthday.
The Louisiana Hospital Association has partnered with the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission to recognized babies born on April 30th - the date of Louisiana's 200th anniversary of statehood.
Each baby born in a Louisiana Hospital yesterday were to receive the Louisiana Bicentennial Medal and special bicentennial certificate recognizing the child as an official bicentennial baby.
It was estimated there would be between 200 and 250 babies born yesterday across the state.
