State Representative Mike Johnson has announced his candidacy for Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District. The seat is being vacated by Minden's Dr. John Fleming, who is running for the US Senate.
 
Talking with Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty on NewsRadio 710 KEEL, the Republican Johnson said, “Washington, D.C. has grown completely out of control, and people know it.. I’m running for Congress to defend our freedoms, restore conservative principles, and get America back on the right course,”
 
Johnson, a Constitutional lawyer and widely respected right-to-life advocate, was born and raised in Caddo Parish. The son of a decorated Shreveport fireman, he currently resides in Bossier.

The primary election for the 4th District seat will take place in November.
