Chris Giordano, the president and general manager of the Louisiana State Fair was arrested early Saturday on marijuana charges.

Shreveport police say Giordano, was arrested just after 2am Saturday after police noticed him failing to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop, officers found marijuana in  Giordano's car. He was taken into custody. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana, first offense and failing to stop at a stop sign. He bonded out of jail sometime Saturday evening.

43-year-old Giordano has been head of the Louisiana State Fair since 2006, He succeeded his father, Sam Giordano, who died of a heart attack in May of that year.

This year’s state fair is set for October 23-November 9.
