CONCERNS ABOUT STATE CUTBACKS HAVE FOLKS AT THE LSU HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER WORRIED ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THAT FACILITY.

THE STATE IS TRIMMING NEARLY 100 MILLION FROM THE LSU SYSTEM AND SOME SAY THIS COULD ULTIMATELY FORCE THE LOCAL TEACHING HOSPITAL TO CLOSE THE DOORS TO THE MEDICAL SCHOOL. THAT'S A WORST CASE SCENARIO, BUT THERE IS ALSO CONCERN ABOUT MAJOR LAYOFFS AND OTHER CUTBACKS. ALL OF LSU HEALTH CARE ACROSS THE STATE WILL BE FACING CUTS OF MORE THAN 24 MILLION DOLLARS AND THAT COULD RESULT IN THE LOSS OF MORE THAN 100 JOBS.
