[ORIGINAL STORY]  Stabbings on both sides of the river over the weekend leave one man dead and another wounded.

Early yesterday morning, Shreveport police were called to an apartment complex in the 9000 block of Mansfield Road.  There, they found a man dead of a single stab wound to the upper body.  Detectives talked with the man's girlfriend, 39-year-old Betty Terrell, who told them she stabbed the man during an argument between them.  She was booked into the Shreveport City Jain on a second-degree murder charge.  Police are still investigating what might have led to the deadly stabbing.

And a man has been arrested in Bossier City for allegedly stabbing his brother with a roofing knife during a dispute between the two.  The incident reportedly happened late Saturday night, but police weren't notified until 6 yesterday morning after 39-year-old Marvin Mendez called a relative from the scenic overlook on Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, saying he'd been stabbed.  Mendez's relative then called police.

Mendez was taken to LSU Health Shreveport with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the abdomen.  His brother, 28-year-old Julio Cesa of Bossier City, was arrested and charged with aggravated second-degree battery and marijuana possession.
