The Shreveport Regional Arts Council will be getting an "Our Town" grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. It's one of only 51 such grants awarded nationally. The $100-thousand grant will be used to develop the techinal design for the city's first interactive transportation and information substation. "CommonLink," as it will be called, will be a central part of Shreveport Common and will include a bus stop and shelter, taxi stand, GPS-driven "I-shuttle" stop, bike racks, charging stations, wi-fi and more. It will be located on that triangle-shaped piece of city-owned property just to the west of the old Central Fire Station.
