A Haughton man could have just ended up with a speeding ticket...but he ended up being charged with several other offenses, too. Bossier sheriff's deputies say they clocked 25-year-old Heath Gates going 82 in a 55 on Hwy. 80. Dispatch had already gotten multiple calls on how reckless he was driving his truck. When deputies tried to catch up to him, he turned onto Hwy. 614 and flew past another car. But they got him stopped, and found out he had no car insurance. He was arrested, and on the way to Bossier Max, Gates told the deputy he'd better get a lawyer, because he was going to need it...and threatened to beat the deputy as soon as he got out of jail. Gates was charged with reckless operation, speeding, no insurance and public intimidation.
