Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation (SPAR) Bill Cockrell Community offers Zumba classes on Monday and Thursday each week from 7:00 p.m. to 7:50 at the center located at 4109 Pines Road.

The classes are taught by former LSUS basketball player and owner of Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing and Biological Sciences Kendera Monette. The classes are for ages 16 and up and $5 per class. No prior experience or preregistration is required to attend.

Zumba offers a dynamic combo of aerobics and Latin dancing to create a dynamic workout system that is entertaining and fun. Decrease body fat, reduce stress levels and tone muscles in a friendly party environment.

"Our motto is 'Ditch the workout… join the party,’" says Ms. Monette. "This class is a well kept secret that we would like the community to know about. It is an awesome class and has proven to be very beneficial to those who participate."
