If you've driven through Southern Hills lately, you've probably seen the patriotic banners flying along parts of Mansfield Road and Jewella Ave.

Each year, members of the Southern Hills Business Association spend over $6000 to buy, maintain, and hang 125 patriotic banners around the Fourth of July and another 125 Christmas banners in December.  SHBA President John Bowman says, "We do this as part of our mission to make Southern Hills an appealing and attractive place to do business.  The association also works closely with Shreveport Property Standards and individual business owners to keep the area attractive.

In the accompanying photos, you can see Kevin Kiser of Milam Electric hanging one of the banners along Mansfield Road.
