(from 07-26-12)

An early-morning crash in west Shreveport leaves two people dead. Police say a 2005 Chevrolet was headed northwest in the 6700 block of South Lakeshore Drive, when it left the roadway and hit a tree. The two people inside were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers had to close the section of South Lakeshore between Pines and Risinger for a while, but that area has since re-opened. Shreveport crash investigators are trying to figure out exactly what caused the crash. No names have been released so far.

We had heard there was a child seat inside the car, but Police Sgt. Bill Goodin tells KEEL News that investigators have told him there was no young child in the vehicle. He says the area where the crash happened may need to be shut down again, but only if re-enactment is needed.
