Somebody’s Been Stealing ATVs in Louisiana & Texas
A Texas man is the third man to plead guilty in a stolen ATV ring involving the theft of 60 four wheelers in Louisiana and Texas. The ATVs were valued at more than $360,000.
Luis Calixto, 46, of Houston, is the latest to plead guilty to a charge of interstate transportation of stolen vehicles. Calixto and two co-defendants, Shaun Cody Gauthreaux, 28, and Allen Joseph Morehead, Jr., 26, both of Louisiana, were all charged in December of 2011 with conspiracy to take stolen motor vehicles across state lines.
The ATVs were taken from Acadia Parish and Harris County, Texas, among other places. The thefts occurred between March and August of 2010.
