Don't get enough vacation time?  There is now a movement in some companies to buy and sell vacation time between employees.

Let's say you want to make some extra money, you could sell some of your paid-time  off to another employee looking for extra paid-time off.

A soon to be released survey by the Society for Human Resource Management finds that 9% of employers allow workers to cash out their vacation time.  Also, 5% allow employees to purchase more vacation days through payroll deduction.

The costs would be spread out over the year, making the effects hardly noticeable.  Some employees like the idea of having the flexibility to either buy more time or sell the extra time they have.

As the saying goes, time is money.  And for a growing number of employers, the same is true for vacation time.

Let us know what you think about this idea and if you have other "thoughts" about this idea.
