Uruguay soccer star Luis Suarez has been banned for nine matches and four months by the games governing body, FIFA.

The suspension comes just days after Suarez, nicknamed 'The Cannibal' for his habit of biting his opponents during games, sunk his teeth into the shoulder of Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during their World Cup match, won by Uruguay 1-0.

Surprisingly, Suarez was not flagged for a penalty by official at the time of the incident. 'The Cannibal' was also fined $112,000. This is the third time the Uruguayan star has been suspended for biting an opposing player.
