If you were looking to do a little early Christmas shopping, here's the place to do it! Saturday is the Texas Avenue Makers Fair, which I have really been looking forward to. Over 100 "makers" of original and handmade goods will be onhand, along with street performers and many added surprises. You'll be able to find items like clothing, jewelry, pottery -- as well as gumbo, jambalaya, cake balls and coffee...all in one location. Admission is free, and there's plenty of free parking. Everything's going on from 10 a.m. til 5 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Texas Avenue and Common Street in downtown Shreveport. I think I'm going to have to make a stop by and see how much of MY Christmas shopping I can get knocked out in one day!
