The City of Shreveport will soon have a new water billing system. It's designed to make it faster and easier for customers to get information about their accounts -- and expand their payment options. Customers will now be allowed to pay by credit card and contact customer service by e-mail. According to a news release from Mayor Cedric Glover's office, that will reduce the number of customer service calls made to resolve basic billing issues. The new system has been in development for more than a year, and the city is still working out the bugs. Now that formal training is complete, major issues have been resolved, and things should run more smoothly starting next week.
