History has been made in Shreveport. Chief Patricia Dyas has been sworn-in as the Shreveport Fire Department's new Chief of Fire Prevention. She's the first woman in the department's history to hold that position and only its second female division chief, an accomplishment she tells me she's quite proud of. She says all day yesterday, she was floating on a cloud. She says it's a blessing to have worked as a firefighter for 30 years and be elevated to this position.  Today, it's down to business. Chief Dyas is focusing right now on preparing for Fire Prevention Week, which is October 9th through 15th. There's a preview event going on at Home Depot on Pines Road tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be lots of activities going on there to teach families about fire prevention.
