Shreveporter Brian Holoubeck has honored the memory of his late wife wy creating an endowed scholarship in her name at Northwestern State University.  The Elaine Holoubeck Memorial Scholarship in Nursing will be presented to a junior or senior level nursing student.  The two-year scholarship will benefit a female student with a 3.0 or higher GPA and a strong Christian Background.

Brian and Elaine met when he was a senior and she was a freshman at NSU.  After they married, she put off her aspiratios of becoming a nurse until their youngest child had started school.  Then she went back to nursing school and completed her degree requirements in 1982.  She worked as an Intensive Care Unit nurse until her death in 2000.

The Holoubecks were married for over 30 years and have four children -- one of them an adopted foster child.
