A Shreveport woman will be spending the rest of her life behind bars. 44-year-old Beverly Arthur has pleaded guilty for her part in the slaying of 87-year-old Charles Martin.

Judge Ramona Emanuel immediately sentenced her to life in prison without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence and remanded her to the custody of the Louisiana Corrections Department.

Arthur was originally scheduled to stand trial in July. Her co-defendant in the murder, 44-year-old Eric Mickelson, is currently on death row at Angola. He was found guilty of first-degree murder in August of 2011.
