Shreveport Woman Arrested for Bank Fraud
A 29-year-old Shreveport woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $186,000 in a bank fraud scheme.
Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator says Kelley Rotharmel turned herself in after detectives sought a warrant for her arrest. Her bond was set at $175,000.
Caddo Sheriff's Detective Frank Edmondson says Rotharmel wrote four checks to a local credit union and then stopped payment on them. As a result, the credit union lost $186,449. Edmondson says Rotharmel floated money by moving it among three accounts and two banking institutions.
