Tips to Crime Stoppers have taken a suspected car burglar off the streets.

It all started back on January 11th when a woman reported to police that items, including her wallet, were missing from her car.  When she called to cancel her credit cards, she was told that one of them had just been used to make a purchase

at a local store.  Shreveport detectives were able to recover surveillance video from that store and we and other media outlets posted it on our websites.  It was also posted on the Crime Stoppers website.

That video lead to several tips being called in to Crime Stoppers and, through those tips, police were able to identify the suspect as 22-year-old Ashleigh Phillips.  Armed with that information, they went to her residence in the 9000 block of Youree Drive and took her into custody without incident.  A subsequent search of her home yielded several other stolen items and enabled detectives to link her to at least three other burglaries that happened on the same night.

After questioning, Phillips was arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of vehicle burglary, forgery, and possessing a legend drug.  Detectives expect more charges to be filed in this case.
