A woman is in jail for allegedly stabbing her husband early this morning in west Shreveport.

Shreveport police say it happened just after 1:30 in the 5900 block of Canal. Detectives say 33-year-old Tracy Johnson stabbed her 54-year-old husband Curtis more than six times while he was sleeping.

Mr. Johnson was taken to LSU Health Shreveport with life-threatening wounds. He underwent surgery and is expected to survive. He’s listed in serious but stable condition.  His wife was taken in for a psychological evaluation, and has been charged with attempted second-degree murder. Police are still trying to figure out exactly what led up to the stabbing.
