A big feather in the cap of the local Convention and Tourist Bureau: Shreveport-Bossier has beat-out Niagara Falls, New York will host the 2014 convention of the National Association of Motorcoach Operators in August.

The Convention and Tourist Bureau's Chris Jay says it hopes that the visiting operators will have such a good time this summer while they're here that they'll go back home and start organizing more trips to our market.

Jay says about 100 motorcoach operators from around the country are expected to attend. The association's convention will dove-tail with the South-Central Motorcoach Association convention. It starts the same day the national convention ends. Both are being held at the Shreveport Convention Center.
