Shreveport Simplifies Water Bill Payment

There's been another major development in Shreveport's new water billing system. If you'd like to pay your monthly water bill by way of a direct draft on your bank account, you can now do so without having to pay a $4.25 convenience fee. When the city switched over to the new billing system in September, you were given the additional option of paying your bill on line with a credit or debit card. If you did it that way, the convenience fee was added on and it still is. But, the conversion meant that the convenience fee was also added onto your bill if you wanted to pay by bank draft. That had not been the case before and the city's IT staff has been working with the new billing software vendor to make that free service available again. That process is now complete.
