Ah, yes... It's that time of year. You know, the time of year when it's still scorching out, yet kids are going back to school? Yep, that time! And with that being said, Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR) have announced their pool closings. Good bye Summer!

Wait a minute, it'll be hot enough to swim until October at least! J/J Seriously, thank you SPAR for all that you do!

SPAR (Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation) has officially ended the 2014 swimming pool season at Airport Park, Bill Cockrell, David Raines and Querbes pools.  The swimming pool at Southern Hills will remain open through Monday, September 1st (Labor Day).

Southern Hills – Public Swim Hours through August 10th:
Tuesday, August 5th – Friday, August 8th: 3 PM to 7 PM
Saturday, August 9th: 1 PM to 6 PM
Sunday, August 10th: 2 PM to 6 PM

Southern Hills – Public Swim Hours August 12th through September 1st:
Mondays: closed (pool will be open 1 PM to 6 PM on Monday, September 1st)
Tuesday – Friday: 4 PM to 7 PM
Saturday: 1 PM to 6 PM
Sunday: 1 PM to 6 PM

The cost to swim is $2.50 per person (all ages).  The cost to swim and slide is $3.50.

SPAR’s spray parks will be open until later in the fall.  SPAR offers seven spray parks throughout the city:  Airport Park (6500 Kennedy), David Raines Park (2920 Round Grove), Hattie Perry Park (4300 Ledbetter), Lakeside Park (2200 Milam), Querbes Community Center (3500 Beverly Place), A. C. Steere Park (4009 Youree) and Riverview Park (601 Clyde Fant Parkway).
