A suspect is being sought by police following a series of business burglaries that happened overnight in east Shreveport.

Just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday November 28, 2013, Shreveport police officers responded to a business burglary in the 1100 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway at Cindie's Fine Clothing store, where they discovered that someone had entered the business through the front glass doors. Within a short time, patrolmen discovered that several other businesses in the area had also been burglarized in the same manner. Officers learned of similar damage and items stolen from City Gear Clothing Store and Tiger Vypes, both located in the 1200 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway, and George’s Grill in the 100 block of East Kings Highway.

Shreveport Police patrol officers are now searching for a black male who evaded police capture after fleeing from a large U-Haul truck during a traffic stop last night, which officers suspect to have been connected to the business burglaries. Shreveport Police detectives are still continuing the investigation and are working to secure all evidence that would lead to the suspect’s arrest.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on the Crime Stoppers website.
