Shreveport Police Searching for Shooting Suspect

Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a shooting last night in west Shreveport.

Just after 11 p.m., patrol officers were called to the 2900 block of Despot Road, where they found 27-year-old Walter Chambers suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to University Health for treatment and is expected to be O.K.

According to preliminary information from Violent Crimes detectives, an unknown suspect shot multiple times toward two houses in that same block of Despot. One of the rounds went through a house, striking Chambers.
