A Shreveport police officer has been fired for violating departmental policies. Police Chief Willie Shaw has terminated Eddie Williams, who was hired by the department in February 2006. He was initially placed on administrative leave with back pay on September 10th of last year -- after policy violation allegations. He was placed on unpaid leave on October 1st. A criminal investigation has revealed that following a suspect's arrest, Williams removed a small plastic bag of suspected marijuana from the man's pocket -- and handed it to a female standing nearby. A police supervisor witnessed the incident. Williams was charged at the time with one count of malfeasance in office and one count of obstructing justice. He was terminated this morning.
