The Shreveport Police Department has a new vehicle to add to its arsenal of crime prevention and drug awareness initiatives.

It's the department's new D.A.R.E. vehicle and it's on the streets right now.  D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and it's a program designed to take the anti-drug message to 5th grade elementary school students.

The vehicle is a 2013 Ford Explorer.  It features a body wrap design that displays our national colors and has the department's seal on the hood.  It will be on display tomorrow at the police and fire departments' Open House Career Day at the training academy on Greenwood Road.
