Shreveport Police Crack Cold Case

A man wanted for a murder that happened almost three years ago is now in custody.

Shreveport detectives obtained an arrest warrant late last week charging 22-year-old Jovonte Sanders with one count of second-degree murder for the death of 47-year-old Sherri Payton.  That happened at a house in the 500 block of Lynbrook Boulevard -- about a block from where Sanders lives,  Even though they had a warrant, detectives had not been able to find Sanders.  But they finally tracked him down and took him into custody without incident.  He's been booked into the shreveport city jail.
