A pair of suspected thieves are behind bars for their alleged involvement in a retail theft occurring at a southeast Shreveport business.Just before 4:30 p.m. on August 23, 2014, Shreveport Police Patrol officers were dispatched to J.C. Penny’s retail store in the 7400 block of Youree Drive in reference to a shoplifting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers gathered information stating a male and a female exited the store with numerous stolen items, fleeing the business in a newer model, four door, Fiat last seen headed north on Youree Drive. Additional information was relayed to investigating officers, ultimately leading them to the suspects vehicle which was pulled over on Southfield. During the traffic stop, officers detained the occupants inside the vehicle. Evidence located inside the car was consistent with property stolen from the business.
Shreveport Police Property Crimes detectives were notified of the crime and immediately responded to the scene. 29 year old Terence Turner along with 26 year old Breunica Turner entered the retail store gathering up over 1,300.00 worth of merchandise before leaving the business without paying. Investigators interviewed both suspects on the scene, subsequently transporting them to the Shreveport City Jail, where they were both booked in for one count of felony theft of goods. Authorities are looking into other crimes the two suspects allegedly committed at the same retail store.
