The man chosen to replace Al Armendariz as acting Administrator for the EPA's South Central Region is a Shreveport native.  Sam Coleman is a 1974 graduate of Captain Shreve High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Prairie View A & M University and then spent ten years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before joining the EPA.  Coleman has had a long and distinguished career with the EPA and has served in many capacities.  Most notably, he was the EPA's Senior Federal Official in New Orleans to guide the response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
