The national Martin Luther King, Junior, holiday is next Monday but tomorrow marks the anniversary of his birth.  So a special observance is planned for tomorrow evening.  Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover and the Baptist Ministers Fellowship Conference of Shreveport are teaming up to host a citywide service -- honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Junior.  The service is free and open to the public.  It gets underway at 6:30 tomorrow evening at Galilee Baptist Church on Pierre Avenue.  The Senior Pastor at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington D.C, Doctor H. Beecher Hicks, Junior, will be the featured speaker.  As part of the evening's observance, Mayor Glover and the City of Shreveport will recognize the 2013 "Spirit of Doctor King Award" recipients for their commitments to Civil Rights, education, community, youth, and jurispridence.
