A local man is recovering from a gunshot wound following a home invasion robbery late last night in northeast Shreveport.
Just before 11:30 last night, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to a reported home invasion at a residence in the 100 block of Ute Trail. Upon arrival there, officers found 46-year-old Lonnie Hamilton suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder. Hamilton was taken to University Health by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as a non-life-threatening wound.

Detectives believe the victim was shot by a male suspect during some sort of robbery attempt. Investigators have received conflicting statements from people interviewed in connection with this shooting and are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crime.
