Shreveport Man Murdered in Drive-By Shooting, Suspect in Custody

A local man is dead and a suspect is now in police custody following a shooting at a west Shreveport home earlier Friday.

Just before 3:00 a.m. Police were called to a home in the100 block of South Greenbrook Loop relative to a shooting.  Officers found the victim, 50 year old Reginald Wess, under the carport of the home suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body.  Wess was rushed to University Health where he later died.

Wess and the suspect, 23 year old McKinley Efferson had gotten into an argument at the home. Efferson allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot Wess several times. Efferson is charged with second degree murder.
