Shreveport detectives are searching for clues in the shooting death of a man Monday night.

The victim, 22-year-old Timothy Mark Emery Jr. was shot in the head. Officers found more than 20 shell casings at the scene of the incident on Clover Street near Dowdell.

KSLA reports police are now saying enough is enough. "Guys, you you gotta put these guns down. It's just ridiculous," Cpl. Marcus Hines said.

"We have way too many instances of this going on. Frankly, I'm getting tired of seeing this. It's happening for no really important reason."

Emery was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Caddo Parish Coroner's office reports Emery died as the result of gunshot trauma. He was identified by Louisiana ID, with scientific identification pending through fingerprints.

People with tips or information for police should call Shreveport Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit the Crime Stoppers website at Lockemup.org.
