Shreveport Man Killed in Home Invasion Robbery

Shreveport police are investigating a home invasion robbery over the weekend that left a man dead from a gunshot wound.

Patrol officers responded to a shooting Saturday morning in the 3000 block of Amherst Street. They found a man lying across the front lawn, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man, later identified as Duntavious Young, 22, was taken to LSU-Health, where he was pronounced dead.   Detectives discovered that a man entered the home and demanded money from Young. Following a struggle with the suspect, Young was shot at least once in the upper body.

The suspect described as a black male fled the residence on foot. There was a second adult inside the home at the time of the shooting who was not injured.
