A 31-year-old Shreveport man has been arrested for allegedly injuring a three-month-old child that had been left in his custody.

Police got a call from a local hospital after the child arrived in the Pediatric Emergency Room suffering from what has been described as a severe head injury. Once there, officers contacted Lawrence Wright of Shreveport and then called in detectives and the Department of Social Services.

Following interviews with investigators, Wright was arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. The child is in serious but stable condition and is expected to recover from his injuries.
