A Shreveport man is found guilty of third-offense felony domestic abuse battery.

According to the Caddo District Attorney's Office, 47-year-old John Arthur Davis was convicted of a November 2013 attack on a female acquaintance with whom he's had a domestic relationship for several years.

The three-man, three-woman jury was selected Monday, and all evidence was introduced and considered Tuesday before Caddo District Judge Ramona Emanuel. Jury members deliberated for only 15 minutes before returning their guilty verdict.

Davis is looking at one to five years in prison, with or without hard labor, plus a fine of $2,000. He could face enhanced sentencing, however, since he has prior felony convictions for simple burglary, simple criminal property damage and forgery. He'll return to court December 15 for sentencing.
